Admission Information for STAR Transfers

ADMISSION PROCEDURES

Students in the Speciality Training in Advanced Research (STAR) Program complete approximately one year of clinical fellowship training, then transfer to a graduate program for completion of their Ph.D.(~4 years). STAR students wishing to pursue their Ph.D. in the Molecular Biology Interdepartmental Ph.D. Program (MBIDP) must first choose a permanent research advisor before applying for admission. The student and his/her chosen mentor then submit a joint application. All faculty mentors, including those who are currently mentoring or have previously mentored, a student in the MBIDP, must submit their portion of the joint application, including all required signatures.

Student/Mentor applications for admission to the MBIDP may be obtained in the MBI Administrative Office, 168 Boyer Hall.
